How to optimize your social media profiles

Have you ever had that experience when you get a ton of views on a reel or TikTok video but then it leads to nothing? No followers, no sales, no conversion. It’s likely because your social media profile isn’t optimized.

This means that when someone sees your video or post and they click over to your profile, your bio isn’t signaling to them that you can help them or bring forth a transformation, even though you can.

To help with this I have 3 strategies that you can actively implement into your social media profiles today to optimize your accounts for conversions.

In Instagram list keywords in your account name.

IG recently added more character allowance in the account name section, so use it! Right after your name add a separator and add in your professional title. For example, you can write, Jane Doe | Social Media Marketer, or Suzie Q | Women’s Health Advocate. This helps people know what you do at the very first glance of seeing your profile.

The first line in your bio should describe what you do and the transformation you deliver.

This is the *perfect* place for your elevator pitch. In one single sentence, you need to get across why this prospective follower needs you. Keep it short and sweet and try not to over-explain.

Have a “call to action” in your bio.

People often need to be prompted to take action or they will likely get distracted. You can either direct them to click on your bio or you can invite them to follow you.

Here at GasStove Creative, we are all about optimizing every facet of your business so that your marketing efforts make the most impact. If you want to learn more about how you can do this throughout your business I recommend you book a 1:1 strategy call with me today!

3 TikToks to make that DON’T involve dancing

If you’ve been in the social media content creation sphere at all since the pandemic, you are familiar with the rise of video content. TikTok, IG reeks, YouTube shorts, Pinterest “idea pins” – whatever platform you’re on, videos are taking over.

For many of us, this can feel a bit intimidating – not everyone feels comfortable getting in front of a camera. However, that doesn’t mean that you have to miss out on the virality and exposure that videos can bring to your business. It just means we have to get a little more creative.

Here are 3 videos ideas that you can use today to market yourself (that DON’T involve dancing)

Quote-based videos

If there’s an inspiring quote that you want to share, turn it into a video. Either post it as a photo and put some music behind it (making it a video), or you can create a graphic with a moving background.

If you use Canva, they literally have Instagram Reel templates with stock videos that you can use and make SO much content for your business.

Workflow video (educating by showing)

If you want to educate your audience, give them a quick tutorial on how to do something. If it’s virtual you can screen record and then use the voice-over feature. Or again, you can use Canva and make some slides to show.

Lifestyle videos with an educational/inspirational voice-over

Simply show what’s going on in your life. Take a short clip of your morning coffee, your yoga mat, your breakfast, your desk – anything about your day. Then put them all together and either create your own voice-over or reuse trending audio.

These are aesthetic, they boost exposure, and bring a human element to your brand.

PS. If you make a video for one platform, like IG or TikTok, share it across any platform that makes sense. Reuse that content over and over so as many people as possible see it.

I hope you found these tips helpful and that you make some awesome videos for your business this week!
